edX
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk about edX.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University created edX in May 2012. It's an online course provider. More than 140 schools, nonprofit organizations, and corporations offer or plan to offer courses on the edX website. Currently it boasts a catalog of more than 2650 online courses. You can choose any course in accordance with your interest. The bad side of edX is that you have to pay for getting a certificate. However you can be enrolled in the audit track and complete the course without getting a certificate.
On edX I took a course which is called Practical Thinking Skills For A Succesful Life. The course is consisted of 3 parts which are called A Succesful Life, Practical Thinking Skills, and Positive Values & Powerful Skills. Besides there are 12 units totally. The teachers generally talk about the philosophy of Aristotle, Immanuel Kant, and John Mill. In addition to these, they give you information about some succesful people who are Bruce Lee, Nick Vujicic, Jack Ma, and Steve Jobs. Since I'm into philosophy, and I believe in the power of thinking, it was benefical and enjoyful for me. Besides I think filling out questionnaires and doing tests at the end of units to see how much of the information you got was an entertaining method.
